The Turkish parliamentary election was held on 1 November 2015. Results revealed that the ruling AKP won a majority (316 out of 550 seats) in Turkey’s Grand National Assembly, giving them a mandate to govern the country for the next four years. Commentators have suggested that there were issues with the economy, security and a lack of media freedom in the run-up to the elections.
