The Canadian parliamentary election was held on 19 October 2015. Results revealed that the Liberal Party had won 184 seats, gaining a majority in the Canadian Parliament and making the leader of the Liberal Party, Justin Trudeau, the country’s new Prime Minister. He replaced incumbent Stephen Harper—whose Conservative Party finished second with 99 seats—who had been Prime Minister for almost a decade, since first assuming office in 2006.
